The problem I have with atheists is the attitude demonstrated by some of the people who have responded to this thread already. Bitter, mean, angry and condescending. Every atheist that I have ever personally known has decided on that philosophy because at some point they got "god" mixed up in their minds with "Santa Claus" and prayed really really hard for something and didn't get it. Therefore, god does not exist, and furthermore I'm so pissed at him that I'm going to spend all my time telling everyone I meet how he doesn't exist, and if you disagree with me you're just stupid, because I'm logical and I believe in SCIENCE.

Well, riddle me this, Mr. Science....what the fuck, exactly, does my personal faith, or the personal faith of any other person in this world, have to do with you? Why should anyone who has faith have to prove a damn thing to you or anyone else? A subjective experience is by it's nature deeply personal to the person who experiences it. It doesn't need to be justified to someone else, because it isn't about them. I can't show god to you; you have to get up off your lazy ass and go looking for that yourself.

There is a lot of this anti-Christian bashing that goes on everywhere. And it's bullshit. It's also bigotry. Funny, someone posts a video that someone else thinks is racist, and everybody is on them like a duck on a June bug. But someone makes the statement "all you bible thumpers are alike" and nobody blinks. Tell me, how is that statement any different from "all you black people like fried chicken and watermelon"? Both statements are stupid generalizations, assuming something negative about a person based not on their personality as a whole and their actions and the content of their character, but on one fact that the person who made the statement assumes about them. I see that you're black, and I assume you play basketball and have 3 illegitimate children by different mothers, and I treat you accordingly, based on my bullshit assumption, with prejudice. Or, I see that you are a Christian, and therefore I assume that you are a narrow minded idiot without a right to an opinion on anything, and I respond to you by bashing you and making stupid statements like "your god is a chemical imbalance". Either way, I'm a bigot. Pure and simple. Don't lie to yourself and tell yourself that you're superior because you don't "need" religion, that your misdirected anger and hatred means that you are some kind of more highly evolved being that can look down your nose at the "lesser" among us who do have faith and who are sick to death of fucking apologizing for it. You have a religion too, and you're just as fanatical and annoying about it as the most radical Pentecostal handing out leaflets in front of the Piggly WIggly.

It's a lack in your own character that's showing, not your intelligence.
