Why do UFO's have their lights on?

some run on extremely high voltages of electricity,and high gravitational fields, these two things might contribute to emitting light.

Assuming these brightly lit UFOs are exotic craft of terrestrial origin, it is possible that some form of navigation lighting may be employed (just out of habit/convention?!!!). However, assuming an extraterrestrial origin than I think it is entirely feasible that their propulsion systems may utilise some advanced application of electromagnetic wave propagation. If so, bearing in mind that visible light is but a small band of the total electromagnetic spectrum, then it is possible that, even if not emitted from the craft in the visible range, other wavelengths (maybe not detectable or reproducible by our current technology) may react with elements in our atmosphere to produce visible light of varying wavelengths.

For example, fluorescent tubes work on the following principle: Electrical discharge between the electrodes in the caps of the tubes excite a gas (mercury vapour) within the glass tube that emits UV light. UV light (also called black light) is invisible to the naked eye but the inside surface of the tube is coated with another element (usually phosphor) that fluoresces in UV light to emit light in the visible spectrum.

In the case of UFOs exhibiting flashing, pulsing or colour-shifting light, this could indicate that the electromagnetic waves emitted, as part of the propulsion system, are either pulsed or of variable frequency.

my theory why they have their lights on is for one:

they want to be seen, we still had no disclosure about them and they might
know it and the more appear the more can be seen the more people know it.

2nd:
they are taking photos of the earth and cities aswell, or even videos.
they want to learn about us

and they know everything about us
