ImageThe spacecraft Galileo took this picture of Earth and the Moon from space as it headed out to its encounter with the planet Jupiter. The photo was taken from a distance of about 6.2 million kilometers from Earth. The Moon is in the foreground, moving from left to right. Galileo was then fairly close to the orbital plane of the Moon and nearly in line with Earth and the Moon, which foreshortened the distance between them and made them appear to be closer than their actual orbital separation.

This color image of the Moon was taken by the Galileo spacecraft at 9:35 a.m. PST Dec. 9, 1990, at a range of about 350,000 miles. The color composite uses monochrome images taken through violet, red, and near-infrared filters. http://space.about.com/od/moon/ig/Moon-Pictures-Gallery/Moon-Color-Composite.htm
Sorry the photo is to big to fit.
