Does Bible prophecy indicate how many more popes we will yet see enthroned?

With speculation rife concerning Pope Benedict’s replacement, the question on many a Bible student’s mind is, “Will the next pope be the last?”
Followers of the Catholic “prophet” Malachy, point to his prediction that there will be one last pope who will take the name Peter of Rome. Still others predict that the last pope will be a black man, similar to the first, Nimrod of Babylon.
All this amounts to just so much speculation.
Papal politics is a murky business. Check the history of the lives of many of the vicars of Rome over the two centuries of that institution’s existence and it is replete with demonstrations of every venal sin known to man. Check the history of the Vatican State and it is a checkerboard of political intrigue vitally involved in seeking to influence the course of events in Europe, if not the world.
Since the time of Vatican ii’s Pope John iii, who gave off the impression of being a jovial Friar Tuck in many respects, most of the latter 20th century popes seemed of mild disposition and effectively divorced from global politics—that is, until we get to the papacy of John Paul ii.
If anything, despite the pedophilia scandals of recent decades, the post World War ii history of the church has tended to shine a beneficent light on the popes who have graced the papal throne since the wartime pope, Pius xii. This is particularly the case with John Paul ii and Benedict xvi. These two have had powerful influence in the politics of Europe and Latin America over the past three and a half decades.
One great blot remains on the post-war period of Vatican history. That is the demise of Pope John Paul i who died, apparently alone, only a month after his election to the papacy in September 1978. The cause of his death was never satisfactorily explained by the Vatican. To this day, conspiracy theories abound indicating that he may have been poisoned.
One thing is definitely sure, had not he been removed from the scene, the great political events that eventually broke the back of the Soviet Union and resulted in the unification of East and West Europe would never have occurred to the extent, in the detail, and with the timing that they did under the Polish Pope John Paul ii, aided by his trusted confidant, Josef Ratzinger.
The point here is the unpredictability of papal politics. No one second guessed that within one month of John Paul i’s election, Rome would be seeking a new pope. No one second guessed the prospect of losing John Paul ii to an assassin’s bullet, which almost was the case in 1981. Just so, no on second guessed the resignation of Benedict xvi.
Given the history of the above incidents, we cannot predict that the next pope, Josef Ratzinger’s replacement, will be the last pope. Though one thing is for sure, he will be part of the continuing transition of leadership in Rome leading to the imminent fulfillment of the prophecies of Revelation 13 and 17.
So what do we need to be watching for in terms of papal politicking coming out of Rome right now?
Brad Macdonald’s February 11 column gives a couple of broad hints of what to look for.

Taken in context with the continuing economic and financial crisis in Europe, the imminence of a vital election in Italy within two weeks, and the important federal elections in Germany in September, Benedict’s resignation is just one more significant event in what is shaping up to be an intriguing year in European geopolitics.
As to whether or not the next pope will be the one prophesied to fulfill the great prophecies of Revelation, let us remember that all truth is revealed, and that the revelation of ultimate reality comes only from God’s prophets and apostles! (Ephesians 3:5).
Find the one of whom the fruits demonstrate he holds the office of prophet and/or apostle and stay tuned to that voice!

If the mods feel the need to merge this article, that would be fine with me.
I try to post all Trumpet articles under 'prophecy & utopia' because this way Trumpet haters can simply ignore it. I posted a segment of a Trumpet article on that thread and was personally insulted.

What business is it of yours what I believe?
The PCG (Trumpet) has made many predictions over the years that I know for fact have come true.
They are the only church I am aware of that makes the connection between current events and Bible prophecy, which is the charter of the church.
Feel free to try and find the writers for the Trumpet wrong, about anything...and then prove it.
If you have issues with the Trumpet, why are you reading the articles to begin with?

The last couple of posts by Cosmine is an example of how trolls like him will stop at nothing to discredit the Trumpet and their views, as well as insult me. Thus the reason why I made this thread separate.

If pointing out the fact that you're not a "free" thinker....But nothing more than a blind opinionless "shill" (Now thats an insult, but you called me troll first.) for the Trumpet...Than i insulted you...(Not considering the "fact" that you're really "High" on pain killers... my friend.

You see? He's a troll that can't resist bashing me and the Trumpet.
He's not adding anything to the discussion...just being a pain in the ass for no good reason.
Why? Because it says Trumpet on the top.

The final pope is suppose to be called "Peter the Roman" so how about they DON'T elect whoever that is and fulfill the prophesy and destroy the world.
