Good job mate,sounds like you are going to have some great tatties....maybe you should just double check they have not flowered and withered and you have missed them?.....better be on the safe side....I've got my carrots growing great and have just planted around a dozen turnips...i love all this gardening malarchy.....i'm serious about going to the council,tommorrow asking about unused land,if there is any and if so well i want to start a community garden of sorts...to grow food on.I believe they are obliged to give you the land to grow food on,according to hugh fearnley whittingstall.

I have been interested in permaculture for some years now and it has been gaining momentum in Aust. These people will turn any area into a self sufficient garden, from small courtyards to large farms, planning it all out so everything is compatible in some way be it for fertilising or to companion planting.
