Based on Max Brookes epic novel, World War Z chronicles the falling apart of society.

Long in development and after numerous script drafts setbacks and reshoots, World War Z is finally starting to gear up marketing wise.

Rumours of the director being locked out of the edit bay and not being present for reshoots, are absolutely untrue. What actually happened is they shot the film but realised that the final act was not big enough, so time was taken to script and relocate to London (post Olympics) to film additional material. The film was also pretty short running in at around 74 minutes so obviously these reshoots are technically being undertaken to lengthen the film.

Starring Brad Pitt and loosely based on the Max Brookes Novel, this is World War Z.

Those who have read the novel will realise this is quite a departure from the novel of the same name. It is actually very loosely based on the Max Brookes book with Brad Pitt playing a character that is an amalgamation of many characters from the novel. The initial first draft script was very similar to the novel, the second draft not so much, and now this being the seventh to eighth draft its pretty obviously far different to the novel.

The movie does not actually feature zombies. They are people infected that begin to act like uncontrollable pack animals, that literally swarm anything that is not similar to them. Whereas the novel featured a whole cast of characters spanning the globe giving insight into the fall and return of humanity after the breakout of a zombie apocalypse.

WORLD WAR Z is the first instalment in a planned franchise, and even though the project has been tainted by bad word from production including arrests for weapon smuggling, director star arguments and executive producers demanding more spectacle, I would not bet against it. Zombies are hot right now, and there is no better name than WORLD WAR Z in the zombie genre, not to mention it has the name Brad Pitt attached to it (and he is the one gearing this into a studio tentpole franchise) so it will make money.

Hopefully they can fix the third act and bring home some epically apocalyptic zombie/infected ultra doom porn.

Judging by the trailer, they are on the right track. Even if the hardcore World War Z fans will be pissed.

Censorship debunking & disinformation, it's all in a days work.

Each event increases in volatility over the last event,
but as time goes on these events tend to condition the masses.

I'm disappointed and yet excited about the prospects of this movie. Disappointed that the style the book took wasn't used while the fact that the WWZ name is attached to this movie. Excited that the highly illogical and unrealistic premise of such cases as the Battle of Yonkers is not being used (Because we all know you don't need guns and bombs to kill slow moving zeds, you just need a row of tanks to roll over them).

These 'people' (can't even call them zombies or zeds frankly) act more like a cross between the 'I am Legend' creatures and Army Ants (judging by the cg wall climbing) which makes it to me more believable than the book on how things could so easily spiral out of control, and highly disturbing on the nature and relentlessness of them, with such intensity having never being seen or done in an outbreak movie (Not even 28 Days Later, the remade Dawn of the Dead or I am Legend's killers can seemingly compare in outright ferocity and will).

resident evil spin off anyone ?
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility.
