Interesting thought: Gliese 581e is around 20 light-years away - which means it would take 40 years for light, radio or laser to travel back and fourth. If there's a laser pulse originating from Gliese 581e (the one Dr Bhathal might have found) it would have been produced 20 years ago - by beings listening to now 40 year old radio signals from earth.
What we're we doing 40 years ago? I'll tell you what we did. We we're suddenly starting to produce global amounts of television static and getting the first real radio-transmitting satellites out of the interfering atmosphere and out into the universe.

The science for them to detect the planets composition holds up man so hold the BS flag

"In Order To Live, You Must Be Willing To Die."
"Exist In The Realm Of What Could Be...Not What Is" - Me
"The Truth Cannot Be Told... It Must Be Realized"
The scientists that lead the team have clearly stated it is potentially habitable based on its mass, size and distance from its star. Everything I have read indicates "potentially".
I think the media is in a frenzy based on his comments of 100% odds of life, which are purely speculative at this stage. We lack the technology to say right now for certain the content of this planets atmosphere. That will occur somewhere in the next few years.
Here is a link to the actual webcast the scientists did announcing the discovery:

I apologize for the redundant comments & stupid question in the latter half of this post.
Seems like a lot of stuff is happening at once now and I think we can all sigh a bit of relief around here that were on the right track. Key is not biting each others legs off to be the first to see the sea (like lemmings) but to rise above the situation and become people of honor.
There is also a new article online about a high beam laser or something that an Indian man has been monitoring and attempting to substantiate, if memory serves me (I read it a few hours ago) the light orginated from the same origin as this new goldilocks planet. Ready for the kicker, this guy discovered it after Arthur C Clarke told him to look into the high spectrum light, now WTF- It was either Hoagland or likely Wilcock who said thayt Clarke and others like him (Sagan i.e.) knew vast amounts of knowledge above the avg 'joe'.
Now has anybody noticed that all day long their has been a video on Yahoo home page about the poles flipping?? WTFFF, please somebody help me (I feel like a total idiot so please don't bash me just yet) how do I make a new post on the forum? Took me like a week to find it last time and I am too tired and don't want the link to dis before i get my chance.

Shall we again? We shall again!
