From Wikipedia's definition of BBC's Television Licensing In The UK.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television ... ed_Kingdom
A licence is not, and never has been, required simply to possess a TV set, for the purpose of watching pre-recorded content, or use as a monitor for video games or computers. Although income from the licence is primarily used to fund the television, radio and online services of the BBC, a licence is needed to view all broadcast channels, including commercial services. Total levies from the licence fee were £3.45 billion in 2009–10[2] of which £556 million or 16% was provided by the Government through concessions for those over the age of 75.

TV could of been an awesome tool for education, instead of crap soaps etc it could and should of been set up so you could educate yourself with uni courses and greater learning, having a small entertainment content imho.
We have been having trouble with the email system, but we believe it has been resolved. If you are still having trouble with your email, please email the help desk.
I'm glad I'm not judgmental like all you smug, superficial idiots.

I think it is being done because they present us with a technology that can and will fail. Which means more money to fix the problem amounst the space junk that orbit our planet. Get the money and run, not unlike the folks who make money off of the 2012 bumbo jumbo. Maybe i'm just jealous, nah were gonna get f*@ked either way.
EDIT: also could be compared to the fuckbags on Wallstreet that bet our money on losing scenarios.

I would just tell them you no longer have a TV.
They may not believe you though.
I'm not sure if they can tell if you're using the PC or mobile phone to watch TV on but mobile providers have something called customer privacy policy. They are not allowed to give out your information or information on your useage to anyone except the police and that has to go through a special department.

Oh buddy they know, each appliance and electronic devise puts out a slightly differant hertz signature all with in the 60 Hz range, it's measured digitally. They can sit in there car and know if my ex old lady is useing the newest digital variable speed vibrator, just by scanning. The cable guys do it every day.

Very true. This is what they used to scare people into paying for their license, along with the threat of a £1,000 fine AND confiscation of your television.
This is the modern version.
Court Judges rarely impose the maximum penalty these days as the BBC has lost some of the powers they once posessed. The present government are not as sympathetic to the BBC as previous governments.
I'm using all three....mobile comp and tv and I'm proud of it,and IF they knock on my door then I shall knock on their face and tell them yes I'm using all three and no your not having my name and no I'm not signing no paper now vacate my property rather swiftly
.
