What's all this about then???
United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.

The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs was initially created as a small expert unit within the Secretariat to service the ad hoc Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space established by the General Assembly in its resolution 1348 (XIII) of 13 December 1958.

The so called first man in space was Yuri Gagarin on 12 April 1961.

So you got to ask the question why this office was set up in 1958. :headscratch:

Does anyone know anything about this?
Your input would be welcome. :flop:
Remember this day and prepare yourselves for it is a time of great revealing.
For when it arrives, mankind will finally know the truth about everything.

I started to read the committees logs during their gathering in 2009...

They discuss space technology spin-off's and that they increasingly want to apply these tech's to the general public.. They talk about an increased educational effort on young people in relation to space awareness.. etc..

Very interesting read indeed..

Well, Sputnik was launched in October 1957, during the International Geophysical Year...and the US Congress enacted the Space Act in July 1958, so the timing for the UN's Office would fall within the right timeline.

Just my thought on it.
