sorry for the exclamation marks, but I have been waiting nearly a generation for this bad boy.

Fraxis has made a remake of the iconic (and I do mean iconic) UFO enemy Unknown.

Its looks Effing amazing, looks like it plays like the old one with more bells and whistles!

Yep ! been waiting for this one for months , hope it'll be as
good as the original .

spent countless hours on the original back in the days ,
played terror from the deep as well .

the squads limit sizes in the remake piss me off in the original you could
send really large squads ,in the remake they limited it for 4 or 5 persons in a squad,
or at least that's what i heard,hope it will be moddable .

its true you get a smaller squad, but i expect the game to be geared towards a smaller squad based tactics.

I always had a HWP with me in the old game anyway.

I like the cover based shooting, its a bit like that American army game that came out (cant remember its name).

the only bit I am not liking to the "only one base" shizzle. you can have multiple bases but they're only for interception. I ended up with a base on each continent.

Never finished terror from the deep, it was too damn hard

I rarely used HWP ,to send bunch of 20 newbies into the carnage
and enjoy seeing everything that could go wrong indeed go wrong,
chaos and panic everywhere,that's the fun factor in X-com games for me.

Yeah one base sucks,did you heard anything about alien attacks on the
base ? hope they didn't cut that feature too .

they've been cagey about a lot of the details in the game, apparently they're in. they've retained most of the good features.

they've replaced time units with an area you can move in and as soon as you shoot your turn is over.

there are loads of video's on youtube, i think i have seen them all now

I was buying a game for my son today when i saw this for pre order. I was pumped. I also loved this game.

I hadn't heard anything abouit it which made the surprise all the more sweeter.

Hope its ok though. I played the last ufo series. The last one Afterlight was good, but it got very hard at one point and i couldn't get through it (without going to normal setting anyway, which i couldn't be shagged starting over) I might even play it again before the new one comes out.

Anyway heres one happy Banana :banana:

Few months ago I downloaded the Xenonauts kick starter "demo"
heard about Xenonauts ? it's a low tech independent X-com clone
in cold war setting,the graphics sucks and it's actually not demo but
more like Alpha stage release,but it's highly moddable so you can do
many things with it if you know what you are doing.

no not heard of that, I love turn based strategy games, there need to be more... Final Fantasy tactics/Vandal Hearts style
