You might like:
Your Life begins today, now, this very moment, as you read these lines. The future is unknown, anything can happen, it still doesn't exist, it is still not part of your life.
The past on the other hand, is frozen, unchangeable, like a museum full of statues. You cannot move them. You could spend your time looking at them, reflecting how better it would have been if this statue had been smiling instead of frowning, how this couple could have been closer together, and how this statue of a child could have shown him happily riding a bicycle, instead of being engraved on a tombstone, but they are only statues.
Marble doesn't move. Bronze does not flinch. Your museum of memory is still, silent, frozen. So why waste your life looking at these old statues? Leave the museum for a later day, when you are old and have time to sit back and reflect and remember all the good things you did. And the only time you have to do all these good things is now! The present!
Get going, start living. Your life starts today, and you can do anything you want with it. It's your life; it does not belong to the statues. You can fashion your life as if you were molding wax, make your life as you wish, it depends only on you. Because you cannot change what happens to you, events are out of your control, but you have full control on how you react to them.
Somebody called this the 90/10 principle. Ten percent of your life is what happens to you, and 90 percent is how you react .
Make a decision, right now, that your life is to be a good one, a happy life; you deserve it, you are entitled to live a full and productive life.

Funny. I've been sitting here, lazily, and slowly catching up on DTV and surfing -basically- where my point-of -interest mouse takes me- after the weekend. While doing so, Groundhog's Day was on the tube, and I sort of half-heartedly paid attention-as I had not seen it before. I see an interesting correlation- if you guys know the movie- and makes me wanna pay a little more attention to this, then I normally would.
I read the thing about "Barry"- well, really about his father. That one really makes you
, too. Then the one about the Mayan "discovery" that Julia'a son has put forth- not sure about that one yet.
Really have an odd sort of feeling today- different- that I can't really decipher. Anyone else experiencing anything similar? Or, am I just recovering from the weekend. (As, for me, Monday was swallowed up with the "week-end."
Anywho....(Insert image of smilie with rotating hypnotic eyes)

Uhhhhhh you're talking to a huge Bill Murray fan here.
I've seen Groundhog's Day countless times. It was filmed out over here.
When they're outside and in the cafe, they filmed it in a town called Woodstock here in the Chicago area.

Didn't know that. I occasionally hear Woodstock mentioned here and there, but have never been there. It's just that after watching that, having his day repeat over and over- with varying actions, and results, and then reading the op, I dunno, makes you think about it a little. You know, if I initiate action 1., it will lead me on to the subsequent, following results. If I take action 2. it will lead me to the different set of results- and direction- that might occur after that. etc.
I mean, we all know that that is the way life works and all, but.. I dunno, the op, with the insight of the movie, makes me stop and think about it more then one would normally take the time to do. We all see writings on ideas like the one in the op, and tend to- or I do- gloss over them, as if-seemingly- I've become so jaded and everything has become so "old-hat" , banal, and cliche, that ideas like this are meaningless. Today, though, I happen to see the value in the op's suggestion- if you know what I mean.
Strange stuff, Maynard.
It's 6:00a.m., and "I got You Babe" comes on the radio alarm clock.
