It can be agonizing. Anything more than short answers, I type on wordpad, cut and paste. My e-mail account has been doing the same thing lately. Very pissing off are me being.

It actually happens to my e-mail account more than here. So I just got in the habit of backing up.

Yeah Psi, that was cowboy neverworld speak

BTW: I initially thought it may have something to do with my browser. But then I started using 2 different ones. Still happens.

you always did remind me of wise yoda in a cowboy hat and boots.

psi if you use firefox go get the addon "auto save text" it will save as many text entries as you like as backup encase of that problem. it works................almost too good at times. but tweaking it some gets it under control and is a great backup.

it will work with emails as well as long as they are browser based.

This has happened to me on more than one occasion. I know the frustration, believe me. Someone once posted here that we have a 15 minute time limit- or something like that- from the time we open the post window, to the time we hit submit.

This is what I do now, just to make sure that it isn't lost- just another method, some of the previous listed obviously work as well.

I write my post, taking as long as I want. I then open DTV again, so I have two complete sites open. I then just cut and paste from the oringinal post window into the newly opened DTV post window, and then submit. Works every time. Even the vids in your post will transfer in this manner.

psiman wrote:Okay, so this is the fourth of fifth time now in a matter of weeks that I have lost all the work I put into some big posts that I have spent a large amount of time creating. When I finish the draft and click submit the site tells me to sign in which I have already done and when I do sign in or not and then return to the post I was working on it is gone. Kaput. It just so happens that this happens with the more controversial subject I intend to post. It has not happened with other, less important, submissions that are and take just as long. Can I get a fix on that please?

Man - that does suck. It's happened to me numerous times. I have finally learned "the HARD way, to copy and paste any long post I have in notepad - just in case.

It's not just this forum, I've learned the hard way just doing daily work on my computer, that if i don't do a "save as" something will happen, the computer will freeze, power spike - something. It's not like it happens all the time, but I've been caught with my pants down enough times to work around.

Feel your frustration, easy work around though.
