These pyramids have been the source of much confusion and misdirection. Even now there are people who still believe the story about the Giza pyramids being aligned with Orion's belt, and some even dated the pyramids based on this fabricated theory. A virtual entire religion has since sprung from this, including "Keepers of the Genesis", "The Secret Chamber", "The Message of the Sphinx", "Heaven's Mirror", "Fingerprints of the Gods", and "The Egypt Code" all using half baked theories and fabricated archeology. We now know the authors fudged the orientation, and that the pyramids not only were constructed closer to 2600BC and the 10,000BC date was used to tie it to Edgar Cayce's ramblings about Atlantis and a 'hall of records' and "correct" for misalignment. Reminds one of how Sitchin's nonsense got started, and is even followed today.. Please see 'sitchiniswrong.com' for more on Sitchin

If the pyramids align with any star formation, a much better case is made in "The Cygnus Mystery" showing the three main stars of Cygnus fit onto the three pyramids at Giza at the conventionally accepted date of 2600 BC, they actually fit better than the three stars of Orion’s Belt. But this finding doesn't support the new religion of 'ancient astronauts' and the like..

For whatever reason, people want to make these monuments a part of their alien religion and create an entire history of man for which there simply is no reliable evidence, but rather a willingness to rush headlong into folly without the slightest measure of restraint.
