September 28, 2012 - This is Tears of Steel, a crowdfunded short film that uses the open source 3D animation tool Blender to create some gobsmacking visuals of a futuristic Amsterdam overrun by mechanical beasts. The premise is also enjoyably zany to boot — Terminator as a relationship drama! Be sure to stick around after the credits, and here's the synopsis:


The film's premise is about a group of warriors and scientists, who gather at the "Oude Kerk" in Amsterdam to stage a crucial event from the past, in a desperate attempt to rescue the world from destructive robots.
