Iran has removed nuclear fuel from reactor core, IAEA says

November 16, 2012 - Reuters Top News ‏@Reuters FLASH: Iran has removed nuclear fuel from core of Bushehr reactor, IAEA says, gives no reason.

Why would fuel be removed from a reactor?

Testing "potency" since it's new to the country?

Installation into a war-head?

Or do they know an Israeli attack on their facilities is imminent?

Unless this is for a reactor repair its a very serious matter. Plutonium extraction from reactor fuel is easy. The fact that they didn't wait the entire fuel life cycle indicates a likely immediate sprint toward nuclear capabilities.

Usually you have to wait quite some time for the fuel to cool down prior to moving it, but for a desperate country with eager martyrs they may not wait.

Let's hope this is a repair. If that fuel starts to leave the building there will be airstrikes.

They know Israel is going to hit them
    sooner rather than later.
So they are removing it to retaliate
    as soon as possible.
What would anyone else do ?
