June 14, 2011 - About a week in the past, a ship, the Kang Nam left the North Korean port of Nampo on it’s way to Myanmar allegedly carrying weapons, or materials to develop weapons. Given the new U.N. Security Council resolution that requires member states to find permission to examine suspicious cargo, the USS John McCain, a U.S. Navy destroyer moved into position to intercept the Kang Nam.
In response to the U.S. ship relocating in, North Korea issued a statement by way of the official Korean Central Information Agency that “If the U.S. imperialists start off another war, the military and men and women of Korea will … wipe out the aggressors on the planet when and for all.”
North Korea has been finding more and far more vocal in current months. Again in May they released a prolonged array rocket that fell into the Pacific about one thousand miles north of Hawaii, and just a few weeks ago they detonated a nuclear product in an underground test. They have also been bullying the international community by banning ships in or near their waters in order to check brief array and mid array missiles.
This time though, they’ve all but declared war on the United States and their allies. For a country to threaten to wipe another country and all it’s men and women off the world… that’s not a statement to be taken lightly.
