Report: Russia Sent Syria Super-Advanced S-300 Missiles

Russian warships that have reached waters off Syria in recent times have been carrying, amongst other items, Russian specialized advisors who will assist the Syrians set up an array of S-300 missiles Damascus has acquired in latest weeks, a report in the London-dependent Arabic language Al Quds-Al Arabi said Thursday. Citing resources in Syria and Russia, the paper explained that Moscow sees a Western attack on Syria as a “red line” that it will not tolerate.

Despite the mounting opposition in the West and even in the Arab entire world towards Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad for his assaults on protesters in search of to unseat him as leader of the place, Russia maintains its support for Assad, the report mentioned. Russian and Syria army officials are operating with each other to retain Assad's rule, and to deflect a possible assault by NATO or the U.S and EU.
