Combat medics, trauma doctors, and emergency responders all suggest this Israeli Fight Dressing (IBD) or Israeli Crisis Bandage for the therapy of gunshot wounds, puncture wounds, deep cuts, and other traumatic hemorrhagic accidents. In reality, this is the very same bandage that is incorporated in the U.S. Military's IFAK, or individual first help kit. This is the significant, 6-inch bandage, and can be employed one-handed for self-therapy or can be used by a care giver or first responder to assist staunch blood circulation and stabilize the patient for evacuation or therapy. It can be employed on the head, leg, arm, torso, or elsewhere on the entire body.
Though mostly designed to assist staunch blood circulation by applying stress to the wound web site, the 70-inch long elastic part of the bandage can also be employed in the discipline to construct a sling, to bind a strain or sprain, to safe splints to the damaged limb, or even as an improvised tourniquet. The IBD is self contained. It does not call for clips, Velcro or pins to use and there are no loose components that can get dropped or misplaced in an emergency.
This bandage is vacuum packaged in a compact, sterilized package with directions for use on the back again. The package is modest adequate to have in your BDU pocket or a MOLLE pouch. A very recommended piece of basic safety gear for people going into harms way.
