These knives function 5160 steel and black texture powder coated blades. 5160 Steel is common now for a variety of knife types, but normally greater blades that want much more toughness. It is primarily a simple spring steel with chromium added for hardenability. It has good dress in resistance, but is acknowledged especially for its excellent toughness. This steel performs effectively more than a vast assortment of hardnesses, demonstrating wonderful toughness when hardened in the low 50s Rc for swords, and hardened up near the 60s for knives needing much more edge keeping
