It's not reflecting the sun... The sun is beyond it (west), and this object is perpendicular to the horizontal plain of the earth (sun reflection would be on the other side). It is not a sun dog or a planet or a star. (not unless these things look like a glowing toilet seat!) It's not a satellite, because they all travel west to east, except the Geo-stationary ones, and those don't move; this did! This is one of the more interesting (and credible) things I've seen lately. It is in near (55,000 ft.), if not absolute earth "orbit". Excellent video!

The way it sets with the sun and keeps the same sort of distance from the sun suggests to me its either Venus or possibly even Mercury. An optical abberation could make it look a bit wierd as a lot of cameras do when on full zoom. Interesting though.

Not a fire, something reflecting the sun. it does not have the typical sun dog flare. I used to float those thin laundry bags using a candle and crossed straws. It kind of looks like that.I lived in western PA so kids are probably still doing this.Namaste!A little helium released into a laundry bag will do this easily and the clear plastic is very light and very reflective of the last suns rays.

It's probably a sun dog. You never know, though...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog

Jolie trainée de condensation avec le soleil de fin journée qui donne cette impression de rondeur ovalisée !

its a jet and contrail - low angle perspective viewed from behind (or in front, its hard to tell). either way, its good that people are keeping their eyes peeled to the sky - thats the important thing.

You make your case well, it's hard to argue with logic like yours.
