Elon Musk Says "Take The Red Pill" in Cryptic Tweet
Elon Musk, the famous tech-billionaire, known for defying the current lockdown orders, has stirred the pot by tweeting a rather cryptic line to his 34 million followers. "Take the red pill" is all the Tesla CEO and co-founder of PayPal said in his tweet, which has caused quite the commotion among everyone. Ivanka Trump, advisor to President Trump and first daughter, later retweeted, adding "Taken!" in response.
For those who don't know, "Take the red pill" is actually a famous line from the popular 1999 movie "The Matrix" about seeking the truth behind something. There is a choice between a blue and a red pill; take the blue pill, the story ends, the person wakes up in their own bed and believes whatever they want to believe. Alternatively, by taking the red pill, the person will stay in Wonderland and will be shown how deep the rabbit-hole really goes.
While Musk is one of the richest and potentially most powerful CEOs in the world, this hasn't stopped the tension between him and the government. Even since the lockdown started, he has been vocally critical of government policies during the global pandemic, often ignoring the guidelines. His latest move saw him reopening Tesla's California plant in defiance of local restrictions last week. Opening on Monday, Musk practically dared local law enforcement to arrest him. By Tuesday, the plan had apparently resumed operations and was fully functional. The next day, officials announced that there would be an exemption and allow Musk to have the plant open, backing off at the same time. This was provided all workers followed agreed-upon safety precautions such as wearing gloves, face masks, observing social distancing, and even installing barriers between workers.
With no official word from Musk himself, the true meaning behind his cryptic tweet remains a mystery. I read that Elon now has 7 of his properties listed for sale. Why would he sell most of his possessions? What does he know that we don't?
