George Bush Senior Shocks Audience With Answer to Question About UFOs & Aliens

Jeb Bush, who is one of the sons of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, was holding a fundraiser in Orlando in which questions were put to his father. Given his pedigree, you would expect George Bush Senior to be completely capable of handling the audience and not say anything too silly. That didn't quite happen as he put the cat amongst the alien pigeons. When asked about UFOs he responded saying, "Americans can’t handle the truth."

George Bush Senior On UFOs: 'Americans Can't Handle The Truth'

The question had been put to George Bush Senior by an activist and journalist. Unfortunately, George didn't get time to expand further because the event organizers quickly brought the event to an end to avoid any further embarrassment. Which does beg the question of why they didn't want to let him expand on what he was saying. Perhaps it is a coincidence that they stopped the situation, or maybe not, it certainly makes you think.

What do you think to this? Was George Bush Senior doing it just to stir things up and create interest? After all, he would like his son to be president one day so why not bring the spotlight on to the event and get some extra press coverage. However, that may be unlikely given this isn't the first time a UFO based question has been put to the man. In 1988 he was asked if he would tell Americans the truth about UFOs and he replied saying, "I'm very careful in public life about dealing with classified information." At least over time he appears to be sticking to the same script.

How trustworthy is he anyway? You have to remember this is a guy who has said some interesting things in the past, once when asked by a reporter about equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans he responded saying, "I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots." Even when asked about perfectly decent respectable human beings who love his country he comes out with a remark like that just because they have different views about religion to him, so can you trust someone with that attitude?
