Glise 710 Rogue Star Hurtling Towards The Solar System
The Gliese 710 star will enter our solar system sooner than researchers anticipated.
Scientists say that the approach of the star will change the trajectory of hundreds of thousands of asteroids that, in turn, will probably hit Earth and other planets in our solar system.
The entry of Gliese 710 into the Oort Cloud, located at the edge of our solar system, is not new. We have known since 1996 that this star is heading towards us. The novelty is different: recent calculations have shown that this star will cross our solar system much faster than anticipated.
