NASA completes Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope construction

NASA has completed the construction of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, integrating its inner and outer components in a Maryland facility. This achievement marks a significant milestone, with plans for launch preparations starting in summer 2026 and a targeted launch by May 2027 using a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.

The Roman Telescope will provide groundbreaking data, expected to unveil over 100,000 distant worlds and billions of galaxies. Its advanced infrared instruments will facilitate studies of dark matter and dark energy, and its coronagraph will enhance the search for exoplanets.
