Iran to hold nuclear talks with 3 European powers on Friday

Iran, France, Germany, and the UK will hold nuclear talks in Istanbul after warnings that failure to negotiate could lead to renewed sanctions against Tehran. These talks follow a call between the E3 foreign ministers and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, after recent attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities.

The E3 nations, with China and Russia, are the remaining parties to a 2015 nuclear deal that the US exited in 2018.

Iran claims its nuclear program is for civilian purposes only.

E3 members have stated sanctions will be restored by the end of August if talks do not resume or produce results.

Russia's President Putin recently met with Iran's advisor, highlighting ongoing regional tensions.
