This Strange Plant Looks Like A Mermaid Tail
As the worldwide COVID-19 lockdown continues and enters into its third month, many are looking for things to do to pass the time or spruce up their home a bit. A lot of people are gardening or growing house plants to give their home a fresh lease of life. So, how about a plant that looks like a mermaids tail to bring some cool ocean vibes into your home? This low maintenance succulent looks exactly like a mermaid's, or even a whale's, tail, perfect for underwater sea life lovers, or perhaps for those who are just missing the beach and open water.
While most plants tend to grow up, usually towards a source of light, the Crested Senecio Vitalis, tends to grow outwards. This odd-looking plant grows less in height, but more in width. More specifically, this plant can grow up to 2 feet high but will actually spread itself between 3 and 5 feet wide. The blue and greenish colors are a perfect way to break up a room and add some excitement to boring grey and white walls with no decoration. Stick a few of these in a room and it instantly changes the whole atmosphere!
Some people may be a bit hesitant to get potted plants for their home, even during the current lockdown situation as after they go back to work, they might not have time to look after it as much. Well, fear not as this succulent is extremely low maintenance. Once it's settled into its new home, all it needs is the occasional drop of water, plenty of light, and the plant will do the rest. It really is that simple.
What a great plant! Not only does it look fabulous, but it requires such little work that anyone can successfully look after one. The mermaid/whale tail is just an added bonus that gives the underwater feel to a room which is sure to impress your guests, just as much as yourself. My boring old living room could definitely use some brightening up and these plants seem to like the perfect way to do it!
