Thousands of Airbus planes affected by software issue, UK passengers warned of potential disruption

Airbus has warned that a software issue could disrupt travel for many passengers. This impacts a "significant number" of A320 Family aircraft due to data corruption from intense solar radiation, affecting up to 6,000 planes.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority anticipates some flight disruptions and cancellations. Wizz Air noted that some weekend flights might be affected, while Air India indicated potential delays.

The issue arose after an incident on a JetBlue flight from Cancun to Newark, where a sharp loss of altitude injured several passengers.
