CIA director met Venezuelan leader in Caracas for two hours

CIA director John Ratcliffe met Venezuela's Interim President Delcy Rodríguez in Caracas, focusing on building trust after the US seized Nicolás Maduro. The two discussed economic collaboration, with Rodríguez announcing reforms for the oil industry to attract foreign investment.

Ratcliffe and Rodríguez discussed potential economic collaboration and that "Venezuela can no longer be a safe haven for America's adversaries", according to the US official.

President Trump supports US oil companies' investments in Venezuela, claiming they could benefit both nations. Rodríguez recently announced oil industry reforms, following Maduro's capture, to allow more foreign investment which is a move away from Maduro's policies.
