Inauguration to move indoors amid dangerously cold temperatures

SUMMARY

Donald Trump and JD Vance’s inauguration will be held indoors at the Capitol Rotunda due to extremely cold temperatures. The National Weather Service forecasts a high of around 23 degrees on the National Mall. This marks a rare occasion, as the last similarly affected inauguration was in 1985.

Trump warned of "dangerous conditions" due to an "Arctic blast" impacting attendees. He promised that the event would be "a very beautiful experience for all." Additionally, Trump plans to open Capital One arena for a live viewing of the ceremony and parade.
