US aircraft carrier collides with ship in Mediterranean Sea

SUMMARY

The USS Harry S. Truman, a U.S. aircraft carrier, collided with the Panamanian merchant vessel Besiktas-M near Port Said, Egypt, around 11:46 PM on February 12. Fortunately, there were no injuries or flooding reported.

The Navy confirmed that the ship's propulsion systems remain "in a safe and stable condition." The carrier, which has a crew of 5,000, had been operating in the Red Sea to counter Houthi attacks on commercial vessels. The incident is currently under investigation.
