Bible sales in UK hit record high

Bible sales in UK reached a record high of £6.3 million in 2025, representing a 134% increase since 2019. This surge is attributed to growing interest in religion among Gen Z, with sales also rising by 106% in volume. The bestselling Bible translation last year was the English Standard Version by Crossway.

SPCK Group's CEO, Sam Richardson, noted that Gen Z is more open to spirituality and exploring religion than previous generations. Their inquisitiveness, fueled by a turbulent world, has led to a significant cultural shift in faith. Many young people are now sharing their experiences of purchasing Bibles on TikTok, marking a noticeable change in religious engagement.
