Sex crimes in UK committed by foreign nationals surge
Convictions of foreign nationals for sexual offences, including rape, have risen sharply by 62% from 2021 to 2024, reaching 1,114 cases, according to Ministry of Justice data from the Police National Computer.
This compares to a 39.3% increase for British nationals, whose convictions grew from 4,409 to 6,142. Foreign nationals made up 14.1% of sexual offence convictions last year, with Indians (100), Romanians (92), and Poles (83) topping the list. The data, obtained by the Center for Migration Control, also shows a 110% rise in sex crime convictions among nationalities like Afghans and Syrians, who dominate Channel crossings. Other crimes follow suit: foreign national theft convictions jumped 77.9% compared to 55.8% for Britons, while robbery convictions rose 18.9% versus 2.8% for British nationals.
There is growing public backlash housing asylum seekers in hotels in UK with a temporary injunction being awarded from the High court backing Epping Councils bid to close a hotel housing asylum seekers, after a migrant was charged with sexually assaulting a 14 year old. Robert Jenrick, the shadow justice secretary, said:
“This is yet more concerning data that shows mass, uncontrolled migration is fueling serious crime. The Government needs to wake up, publish the full data and act to keep the public safe.”
Nigel Farage, Reform UK leader, added, “Foreign sex offenders are becoming one of the most important political issues in Britain.” The Ministry of Justice cautioned that multiple nationalities per offender and undeclared nationalities may affect the data’s accuracy.
