House Republicans' to subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell

House Republicans, led by Rep. Tim Burchett, are moving to subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator, as confirmed by a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee aide on July 22, 2025. The House Oversight subcommittee advanced Burchett’s motion to issue the subpoena, aiming to depose Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking.

“The Committee will seek to subpoena Ms. Maxwell as expeditiously as possible,” the aide stated, noting coordination with the Justice Department and Bureau of Prisons to schedule the deposition. This action aligns with the Justice Department’s separate efforts to meet with Maxwell. “This deposition will help the American people understand how Jeffrey Epstein was able to carry out his evil actions for so long without being brought to justice,” Burchett said.
