Harvey Weinstein diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood figure, has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia while imprisoned at Rikers Island. He is undergoing treatment for this rare bone marrow cancer. His legal health representative, Craig Rothfeld, stated, "Out of respect for Mr. Weinstein's privacy, we will offer no further comment."

Weinstein has faced multiple health issues, including emergency heart surgery last month and a hospitalization in July for Covid-19 and double pneumonia.

Amid these health challenges, he is engaged in a legal battle, as prosecutors seek to consolidate new charges with his 2020 crimes. Although Weinstein's New York conviction was overturned, he still serves a 16-year sentence from his 2022 rape conviction in Los Angeles, which his legal team is appealing.
