Mainland sanctions Taiwan officials, warns separatists
SUMMARY
Chinese authorities have sanctioned two officials from Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party, labeling them as staunch "Taiwan independence" separatists. Liu Shih-fang and Cheng Ying-yao were added to a mainland list for promoting separatist ideologies. Chen Binhua from the Taiwan Affairs Office stated that they trample on public sentiment and have harmed cross-Strait relations.
Additionally, prosecutor Chen Shu-yi has been named as an accomplice for her actions against pro-reunification citizens. Under mainland law, sanctions include bans on entry to mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao. A total of 14 individuals have been identified as hard-line separatists, facing lifelong legal accountability.
