TikTok charged with breaching EU rules

The investigation, part of the Digital Services Act, revealed that TikTok did not sufficiently address potential harm to physical and mental health, especially for minors. The EU tech chief insisted TikTok must alter its design to protect young users. Other platforms like Meta, Snapchat, and YouTube are also under scrutiny for similar issues. Lawmaker Alexandra Geese emphasized the need to stop exploiting children’s health for profit.
