Manhunt underway after gunman allegedly fires at federal agents

SUMMARY

Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly fired at U.S. Border Patrol agents during immigration operations in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood. The incident occurred when a suspect in a black Jeep fired shots and then fled. Fortunately, no one was reported injured. Following the shooting, a crowd threw bricks at Border Patrol vehicles.

City Alderman Michael Rodriguez claimed the agents were causing “fear and mayhem” in the community. The shooter remains at large while DHS commented on a rise in violence against law enforcement. Chief Border Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino emphasized the dangers agents face daily.
