IDF deploys first combat-ready Iron Beam laser interception system

The Israeli Defense Ministry has announced the delivery of the "Iron Beam," a high-power laser interception system from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to the IDF. This system has successfully intercepted rockets, mortar shells, and drones during testing. It will be integrated with existing air defense systems like Iron Dome and David's Sling. Defense Minister Israel Katz called the delivery a "historic occasion" and said it represents the world's first operational high-power laser interception system. Rafael's CEO noted the system provides advanced capabilities for intercepting aerial threats. The Iron Beam is also named Or Eitan in memory of a fallen IDF officer.
