Kazakhstan bans face coverings in public places

Kazakhstan has officially banned clothing that covers the face in public, as per a law signed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The prohibition is part of revisions to laws regarding law enforcement and social protection. The law specifies that "the wearing of items of clothing in public places that prevent the identification of a face is prohibited" except for specific purposes such as professional duties, medical reasons, or events like sports and cultural gatherings. This move is aimed at improving public safety and identification processes.
