Binance founder Changpeng Zhao accused of facilitating payments to Hamas

Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, faces allegations of facilitating payments to Hamas after the October 7 attack on Israel. A federal lawsuit claims Zhao and Binance helped militant groups conceal funds, providing “substantial assistance.”

Despite a $4.3 billion settlement over anti-money laundering violations, the company allegedly continued these activities. Zhao was previously sentenced for money laundering but received a pardon from Trump, who claimed he was wrongfully prosecuted.

The lawsuit accuses Binance of facilitating over $50 million in transactions tied to various terrorist groups and asserts that significant funds were sent to designated wallets before and after the attack, with some accounts still active.
