NYC shooter Shane Tamura kills 5 injures 6 before turning gun on himself at Blackstone, NFL HQ

A shooter named Shane Tamura opened fire in a Midtown skyscraper, killing a police officer and four others, with several more injured. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. as workers were leaving for the day. Witnesses reported hearing a barrage of shots from what sounded like an automatic weapon.

Tamura, 27, barricaded himself inside the building and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed that the scene was contained and that Tamura acted alone.

Authorities warned the public to avoid the area as they secured the scene. The FBI and bomb squad were also involved in the response.
