Spirit Airlines prepares for second bankruptcy

Spirit Airlines is reportedly preparing to file for bankruptcy again due to decreasing cash and increasing losses. The Wall Street Journal cited sources familiar with the situation.

Earlier this month, the airline raised concerns about its viability. Spirit, based in Florida, previously sought bankruptcy protection last November after enduring years of financial struggles, unsuccessful merger attempts, and rising debt. This made it the first major U.S. airline to file since 2011.

The airline has not responded to requests for comments regarding the new bankruptcy contemplation.
