Ten found guilty of cyber-bullying Brigitte Macron
SUMMARY
Ten individuals have been found guilty of cyber-bullying Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, by a Paris court. They spread false claims about her gender and sexuality, and made derogatory remarks regarding their age difference. Most received suspended sentences of up to eight months, while one was immediately jailed for skipping court.
The court highlighted their intent to cause harm. Two defendants had previously been convicted of slander for claiming she didn't exist but were later cleared on appeal. The Macrons are also pursuing a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens in the US for similar claims.
