Ukraine signs 10-year defence pact with Qatar, eyes broader Gulf cooperation

Ukraine has signed a 10-year defense pact with Qatar to enhance cooperation against missile and drone threats, amid escalating tensions in the region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this agreement, highlighting similar partnerships with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The accords aim to leverage Ukraine's expertise in countering aerial assaults, particularly given the recent Iranian campaign against neighboring countries. Zelensky stated, "We will be engaged in co-production, building plants in both countries." He emphasized that these deals represent "10-year strategic-level contracts" worth "billions," benefiting Ukrainian exporters and bolstering its defense capabilities.
