State Department sends $1.25B in foreign aid to Board of Peace

The U.S. State Department has transferred $1.25 billion in foreign aid funds—originally earmarked for international disasters and peacekeeping—to President Trump’s Board of Peace.

Officials diverted $1 billion from international disaster assistance, $200 million from peacekeeping operations, and $50 million from international organizations and programs. The money was part of a prior U.S. pledge to Trump’s new international organization, which he says will rebuild Gaza.

Trump has pledged a total of $10 billion to the Board.

The move comes as the State Department has offered no public accounting of how the funds will be spent.

The State Department declined to comment.
