Police arrest 46 people supporting banned Palestine Action at London protest

SUMMARY

At a protest against Palestine Action being labeled a terror group, 46 people were arrested in London. This follows 29 arrests at a previous demonstration after police warned that supporting the group is illegal.

Protesters in Parliament Square held signs reading “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action.”

Some lay on the ground as police conducted searches, while others were removed and taken to police vans. The ban follows a June incident in which Palestine Action claimed responsibility for damaging two aircraft, causing £7 million in losses.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper criticized the group for its history of vandalism, emphasizing that support for Palestine Action is now a criminal offense. Scotland Yard reiterated its commitment to enforcing the new law. Additional protests occurred across other UK cities.
