Russian airports to begin rollout of AI-powered security systems

Major Russian airports are set to implement AI-driven security systems developed by Ntechlab, a facial recognition firm under Western sanctions. The technology will analyze surveillance footage in real-time to identify security threats, such as passengers on restricted areas and unauthorized movements.

Ntechlab CEO Alexei Palamarchuk stated, “Our product has extensive capabilities, with transportation security being one of its core applications.” The system was reportedly successfully tested at a Moscow airport, with plans for broader deployment in Russia.

This announcement follows Ukrainian drone attacks that disrupted flights, leading to significant financial losses for airlines.
