Trump administration released FBI records on MLK Jr. despite his family's opposition

The Trump administration has released about 200,000 pages of FBI records on Martin Luther King Jr., despite objections from his family and civil rights groups. These documents had been sealed since 1977. King's children, Martin III and Bernice, received advance notice of the release and reviewed the files beforehand. They noted that while their father's story has fascinated the public, it is also deeply personal and should be understood in context. This move follows President Trump's promise to declassify documents related to the assassinations of Kennedy and King.
