Maxwell will clear Trump's name in Epstein probe in exchange for clemency

SUMMARY

Ghislaine Maxwell, sentenced to 20 years for conspiracy with Jeffrey Epstein, expressed willingness to clear Donald Trump's name if granted clemency. Her lawyer, David Oscar Markus, stated during her deposition that she "is prepared to speak fully and honestly" if pardoned.

Maxwell claims that both Trump and Bill Clinton are innocent of wrongdoing related to Epstein. House Oversight Chair James Comer criticized her decision to plead the Fifth, stating it was “very disappointing.”

Democrats accused Maxwell of trying to buy clemency through silence, asserting, “We will not allow this silence to stand.” The Clintons are scheduled for closed-door depositions later this month.
