Pentagon halts some promised munitions for Ukraine

SUMMARY

The Pentagon has stopped shipments of certain air defense missiles and precision munitions to Ukraine due to concerns about U.S. weapons stockpiles. The decision was influenced by policy chief Elbridge Colby after a review showed a decrease in available artillery and munitions.

This action, first proposed in early June, is now being implemented as Ukraine faces significant Russian missile and drone attacks. Those familiar with the situation spoke anonymously, and the Pentagon and White House declined to comment.
